Waking up on a Saturday is like trying to cut your legs off with a spoon. Today i did it with a plastic spoon.
Thou presence art graceth by Ben_CJT at 7:20 AMThe thing I love about Saturdays is the fact that I have the whole day to myself to do whatever I want, especially to restock on the week's worth of lost sleep. More so today, actually, since I was practically out of my apartment for about 14 hours or so. (staying awake for that duration is nearly unheard of usually).
Naturally I would abuse my Saturdays by staying up really late at night (or early in the morning?) surfing the net or doing something else.
I was woken up by a message sent to me by a senior in my CF (Christian Fellowship) regarding a toilet-cleaning activity I volunteered for about a week ago at 9 am later--I received the message at 5 am. Now, at 5am with severe sleep deprivation, the last thing I'd want is to be reminded that I still have work to be done but that was what happened today. At 7+am or so I forced my body to separate from the bed and Facebooked for awhile before moving to my Uni for the dreaded programme.
So the whole bunch of us idiots who turned out were separated into groups, each taking a different floor of the campus and cleaning every toilet on the floor as a sign of servanthood. I must admit I was rather repulsed at first at the prospect, but it turned out rather fun--after the 2nd toilet or so I'd like to believe we were getting good at the job, even. (my favorite tool was the wiper for the glass--the one with the thin rubber edge to wipe smooth surfaces)
I also made a surprising discovery today--the women's is much dirtier than men's in this particular area, which is strange if we were to go by the stereotype that males are sloppier and hence have dirtier toilets.
I am also confused as to why would anyone need to use so much tissue and not use the dustbins to dispose of them, instead deciding that the floor would serve the purpose much more effectively. You'd think that healthcare workers would be more aware of the hazards it poses (to the eye, especially). I don't even want to know what they did with it before chucking it on the floor.
I really admire those cleaning ladies.
Went back home to have a long shower and nap--precious Saturdays are not meant to be wasted by staying awake, after all. Before I crashed, however, I realized there were still clothes to be washed--one huge pile to be exact, so I had to keep myself awake for about an hour or so while my clothes go for a spin. My head was doing the same thing as well, come to think of it.
Had a long nap after that, which was only about 2hours as a matter of fact. Animeslut went out to watch a stand-up comedian (she could've just watched Dumbslut for free) in Bangsar while I am left alone at home again. Guess its nasi lemak and AIR topic again for me this weekend.
I love Saturdays, but they seem to hate me.
