A moment in time

Woke up to a nasty headache today; after the crap I went through the whole night I'd be surprised if I didn't, but I dragged my feet to Uni anyway today.

The first lecture was on "Reactions to Illness", which I vaguely remember (vaguely being the operative word here) what was it about. Truth to be told, I was simply too exhausted to concentrate and as a result I was somewhat lucid the whole time, falling in and out of sleep throughout the lecture--bearing in mind that this lecture was imperative for the completion of my assignment.

Note: emo-ing in class is not a very good idea, at least not in medschool.

Talked to Oldslut about it, and man, was she a comfort--I felt somewhat more invigorated for the next lecture, but then again it could be me finally waking up. And so the next lecture was on the skin, which though was admittedly thought to be boring turned out not too shabby after all. I was probably too busy taking notes to bother anyway but at least I wasn't tempted to sleep in class today.

Had a meeting with my case study group right after class--my leader made the decision to combine our group with another group (Adrian's), which I must say was a wise decision, considering how we lack the commitment on part of some members of our team. Discussion, however was a rather sordid affair--in fact, I'd rather not use the word discussion as most of the members (even from the other team) were too quiet and needed much prompting to even come out with an idea (but of course, whether the ideas were actually USABLE or not was an altogether different matter).

Ultimately, only a few of us came up with ideas but at least that was better than nothing. Was rather flattered when Adrian came up to me later and told me he was glad I was in the group--my contribution was apparently of much use. But of course I played coy--then again, that's me bragging.

Anyway.

I went out with Bala, Steph, Jonny, Esther and Adrian later for lunch at a restaurant in Godknowswhere (near Taylor's, anyone?) and had a great lunch--kept me distracted at least. Rushed back for CF and was a little late, but at least I didn't miss most of the activities. And so to drive a point home, they made us eat mashed-up hardboiled eggs with loads of salt in it. I'll leave the symbolism open to interpretation.

As usual, afternoon nap right up till dinnertime--this time I decided to join Mark and Eunice (Pui) for the HOMES session (courtesy of ACTS church). Had loads of fun there meeting new people and chatting--god knows how much I need one today, since my housemates will not be home until Sunday.

I really, really need a better day tomorrow.
